CO-OP Shared Branching Changes

Truly National

Bank Nationwide, Stay Protected

The Shared Branch Network is adding an extra layer of security for out-of-state Shared Branch cash withdrawals and certified check purchases.

Enhanced Security for

Shared Branching

Beginning May 1, 2025, all members using out-of-state identification will be required to verify their identity through the IDCheck verification system prior to completing a withdrawal transaction at any branch participating in the Shared Branch Network.

IDCheck Required for Enhanced Security

To further enhance fraud prevention measures, Shared Branching is implementing IDCheck, a verification system designed to prevent account takeover fraud—especially in cases involving out-of-state IDs. With this change, all Shared Branch members will be required to use IDCheck for withdrawal transactions that involve an out-of-state ID.

What is considered an out-of-state ID withdrawal?
An out-of-state ID withdrawal occurs when a member uses an ID issued by a different state than the one they are currently in during a Shared Branch transaction.

What Is IDCheck?

IDCheck is a digital verification tool that allows members to securely validate their identity when performing transactions at a Shared Branch location.

This system provides an extra layer of security by ensuring that members are accurately identified before a withdrawal is processed. The IDCheck verification process is required for the following transactions:

  • Cash Withdrawals
  • Official check purchases

How Does It Work?
A visiting member will scan the QR Code at the branch using a smart device to initiate the IDCheck verification process.
The IDCheck system will authenticate the member's identity and provide validation for the transaction.
Members can choose to store their verification for future use, which allows for a faster authentication process on future visits using the same smart device.

If a different smart device is used, the member will need to complete the IDCheck verification process again using the new smart device.

If a previously used ID expires, the member must complete the IDCheck verification process again using a valid ID.
